Charlie is a second six pupil and accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas.
Charlie completed his first six months of pupillage under the supervision of Ned Westaway and Cain Ormondroyd.
Whilst sitting with Ned Westaway, Charlie gained experience across a broad spectrum of Planning and Environmental work. He assisted with the research and preparation for a number of planning inquiries and also gained experience with public highway inquiries. He helped advise on a range of issues such as rights of way, Definitive Map Modification Orders, the Dangerous Dogs Act, flood defence works, marine licensing and planning, assets of community value, statutory nuisance, minerals and CLUEDS. He also helped co-write an article for Local Government Lawyer following the Supreme Court case of Dover DC v CPRE Kent.
With Cain Ormondroyd, Charlie has gained experience of business ratings, including helping advise on alterations to the list following material change in circumstances, identifying hereditament and business rates exemptions.
