Since being called to the bar in 1980 Timothy Comyn has enjoyed a wide experience of public inquiries involving major infrastructure projects including railways and highways, quarrying and waste developments, housing and retail schemes. In particular, he has been involved in a number of lengthy inquiries (9 months +) (Thames Gateway Bridge, Thameslink 2000, West Coast Mainline, Exeter retail inquiry, A299 Whitstable By-pass,). He has been instructed on a number of housing schemes including the Vauxhall Tower at St Georges Wharf on behalf of the GLA. At any one time he is engaged in appearing at public inquiries as Counsel representing for both lay clients and public authorities and in a wide variety of advisory work including preparation for and appearances at LPD examinations, Section 78 appeals and Enforcement Notice public inquiries and in the High Court (judicial review) and the Upper Tribunal, He also advises on planning applications, appeals and applications to the High Court, certificates of lawful use, highways and public rights of way, section 106 agreements , land compensation and restrictive covenants.
