Professor Áine Ryall is Co-Director of the Centre for Law & the Environment at University College Cork where she teaches environmental law and European Union law. A qualified barrister, she holds a PhD from the European University Institute, Florence. In December 2021, Áine was elected Chair of the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee having previously served as Vice-Chair from November 2017 and a member of the Committee from 2015.
Áine is a member of the Avosetta group of EU environmental law experts, a Vice-President of the Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Environmental Protection Agency (Ireland).
