Thames Gateway Bridge Inquiry Closes

The Inquiry into the proposed Thames Gateway Bridge - from Beckton to Thamesmead - (which considered three planning applications, and bridge, side roads, tolling and compulsory purchase orders) closed on 3 May 2006 after sitting for 89 days. The Promoters, Transport for London were represented by Charles George QC and Timothy Comyn of these Chambers, instructed by Rees & Freres, and Hereward Phillpot, also of these Chambers, represented the London Borough of Newham.
The Inspectors have indicated that their report to the Secretaries of State will be submitted by the end of October.

If the consents are forthcoming, the proposed Opening Date for the TGB is Spring 2013.
