Mrs Justice Lang has refused permission on the papers to bring a judicial review claim challenging the decision of the United Kingdom Government to provide up to USD 1.15 billion export finance in relation to the USD 20 billion Area 1 liquefied natural gas facility in Mozambique.

The challenge was brought by Friends of the Earth.  It raised a number of grounds relating to the Paris Agreement.  It was widely reported in the national press.

The Claimant now has an opportunity to renew their application for permission.
