The scheme will provide urgently needed flood protection for at least 1,000 homes and businesses currently at risk in Oxford, as well as transport infrastructure and utilities. Over its lifetime, the OFAS scheme will result in £1.574 billion in flood damages avoided.
The decision to confirm the Order follows a public inquiry held in December to January 2024.
