18 November, 2024

This year’s annual Lord Upjohn Lecture will be delivered by James Pereira KC.  This prestigious annual event, organised by the Association of Law Teachers, brings together legal academics and practitioners to discuss topical issues.

Previous speakers have included Baroness Hale and Lord Neuberger MR.  This year’s lecture is on the theme of professional wellbeing, and is entitled “The Suffering Helper: lawyer wellbeing, professional performance and collective responsibility.”  It will consider the causes of poor wellbeing and professional performance at the individual and wider systemic level, and ask of each of us, what part can we play in creating a healthier professional with the highest professional standards?

The event is on Thursday 21 November at 6-8pm, online or in person at The City Law School, Sebastian Street, Northampton Square, London EC1VOHB.  It includes a drinks reception and panel discussion.  Tickets are free and available at this link.
