Extended 2am Premises Licence Granted for New Fine Dining Japanese Restaurant & Lounge in Westminster’s Special Consideration Zone

Following a contested hearing before Westminster City Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee on 10 July 2025, the Maltese based db Group has been successful in its application for an extended 2am premises licence for its new Aki restaurant. Aki plans to open in September 2025 within a Grade II listed former banking hall at One Cavendish Square in London’s Mayfair.

Following a contested hearing before Westminster City Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee on 10 July 2025, the Maltese based db Group has been successful in its application for an extended 2am premises licence for its new Aki restaurant. Aki plans to open in September 2025 within a Grade II listed former banking hall at One Cavendish Square in London’s Mayfair.

The premises is undergoing a £15m renovation and the new restaurant is expected to create some 100 jobs.  The existing Aki restaurant in Valetta, Malta is recognised in the Michelin Guide.

The Group CEO previously commented in the hospitality press:
