Esther Drabkin-Reiter and Claire Nevin Called to the Bar of Ireland

Chambers is delighted to announce that following their admission to the degree of Barrister-at-Law by the Honorable Society of the King’s Inns, Esther Drabkin-Reiter and Claire Nevin are being called to the Irish Bar today, 18 July 2025. The ceremony takes place before the Chief Justice of Ireland, Donal O’Donnell, at the Four Courts in Dublin.

Chambers is delighted to announce that following their admission to the degree of Barrister-at-Law by the Honorable Society of the King’s Inns, Esther Drabkin-Reiter and Claire Nevin are being called to the Irish Bar today, 18 July 2025. The ceremony takes place before the Chief Justice of Ireland, Donal O’Donnell, at the Four Courts in Dublin. 

Esther has a broad planning, environmental and public law practice and is recognised as a Leading Junior for planning in the Legal 500 and Planning Magazine Survey. She has an LLM in Comparative, EU and International Laws from the European University Institute, Florence, where her studies focussed on EU administrative law. She is currently assisting with an action for annulment brought by a group for European environmental NGOs in relation to technical screening criteria set by the EU Commission pursuant to the EU taxonomy for sustainable activities. Earlier this year, Esther gave a paper on Irish and English planning law at University College Cork’s Annual Conference on Law and the Environment. Esther is fluent in German. 

Claire is a planning, environmental and public law barrister. She has a Master's degree in Human Rights and an Advanced Diploma in Irish Planning and Environmental Law from the King's Inns. Before coming to the Bar, Claire worked for the European Union, the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations and the Council of Europe. Claire is currently instructed on an EU law matter involving compliance with chemicals regulations and is regularly instructed on cases applying Environmental Impact Assessment, Habitats and Strategic Environmental Assessment Directives. Earlier this year, Claire co-authored a paper with Gregory Jones KC BL on Irish and English Offshore Energy Planning and Environmental Issues for the Planning, Environmental and Local Government Bar Association in Dublin. Claire grew up in County Offaly where several family members worked with Bord na Móna and the Electricity Supply Board. This sparked her interest in planning and environmental issues. Claire is fluent in French and experienced in working bilingually in both French and English.  

Esther and Claire join Gregory Jones KC and Mark O’Brien O’Reilly as members of the Irish Bar in Chambers.
