South Cambridgeshire District Council has become the first council in England to receive an Inspector's report finding its Core Strategy Development Plan Document to be sound. The Core Strategy is one of six Development Plan Documents known collectively with other plans that provide more detailed policy as the Local Development Framework that have been submitted under the new plan-making system.
The Core Strategy sets out the overall planning strategy for South Cambridgeshire up to 2016.
South Cambridgeshire District Council is a key stakeholder in the Cambridge Sub-Region growth area and the delivery of a step change in sustainable development.
Saira Kabir Sheikh represented South Cambridgeshire District Council in respect of the examination into the Core Strategy and is representing the Council in respect of the other DPDS which constitute the Local Development Framework.
