Camden Council's licensing panel has reduced the application made by IMG and English Heritage for an entertainment licence for its summer picnic concerts at Kenwood House. IMG were seeking a licence for 10 concerts, with only one weekend without any concert, and 9,000 attendees. After hearing evidence and argument on behalf of local residents, the panel decided to limit the licence to 8 concerts, no more than two to be on consecutive weekends, and to 8,000 attendees. IMG had already begun to sell tickets for the events, some of which will not now be able to take place. IMG and English Heritage have stated that they will appeal against the decision in order to preserve their ten concert programme.
Richard Honey appeared for local residents and amenity societies at the licensing panel hearing.
