FTB is delighted to announce that Daisy Noble and Charles Merrett have accepted invitations to join Chambers. Daisy and Charles each completed a 12 month pupillage with us and join as tenants today, Wednesday 3 October 2018.
Daisy completed her pupillage under the supervision of Suzanne Ornsby QC, Tim Comyn and Cain Ormondroyd.
During her second six, Daisy appeared in the High Court, Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court and the First Tier Tribunal.
Her recent work includes acting as junior counsel on behalf of a claimant in a judicial review claim regarding a proposed retail development to replace business units within an employment park; advising in relation to the preparation of Local Plans and drafting notes for the Inspector on legal issues arising at Inquiry and assisting in judicial review proceedings brought by two taxi operators against the decision of a local taxi licensing authority relating to the grant of PHV licenses.
Charles completed his pupillage under the supervision of Ned Westaway, Cain Ormondroyd and Suzanne Ornsby QC.
Charles' recent experience includes assisting in drafting and filing grounds of appeal to the Court of Appeal in a complex planning case resulting from enforcement proceedings; advising as to the construction of leasehold covenants in relation to a compulsory purchase and the consequences this would have on the valuation of the property; assisting with a potential judicial review against a decision taken by a licensing operator and helping with an 8-day planning inquiry into the proposed development of over 100 homes, including the drafting of submissions.
