Charles Mynors, the author of the leading textbook The Law of Trees, Forests and Hedgerows, has accepted an invitation to be Chairman of the Complaints Appeal Board of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
The second edition of his book will be published following the enactment of the Planning Bill currently going through Parliament, and the making of the tree preservation regulations foreshadowed in the Bill - provisionally in 2009.
The ICF is the Royal Chartered body for forestry and arboricultural professionals in the UK. Its members practice in every branch of forestry and arboriculture relating to forests, woodlands and trees. It provides services to members including support and promotion of the work of foresters and arboriculturists; information and guidance to the public and industry; and training and educational advice to students and professionals looking to build upon their experience. It also regulates the standards of entry to the profession and offers examinations for professional qualifications. It is regulated by its Royal Charter and maintains a Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct for all members.
