On 30 March 2009 the Secretary of State for Transport decided to make the Nottingham Express Transit System Order (with modifications) to authorise construction and operation of Phase Two of NET, consisting of two extensions to Park and Ride sites at Clifton and Chilwell respectively, and directed that planning permission be granted. The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has decided to confirm the designation of the South Downs National Park, broadly in the form sought by Natural England. Read more
Following a 9 day public inquiry, the Inspector (Mr Alan Evans) has recommended rejection by the Registration Authority, York City Council, of an application to register a new village green land at Germany Beck, Fulford consisting of a field and former allotments and forming the proposed access to a 700 dwelling development permitted following call-in by the Secretary of State in 2007. On 6 February 2009 the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government confirmed the City of Manchester (Miles Platting Neighbourhood) Compulsory Purchase Order 2007, a regeneration CPO under s.226(1)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended. Read more
