A couple whose house is 100 metres from Alton Towers failed in their High Court bid to turn down the volume coming from the theme park. A deputy district judge had imposed the maximum fine of £5000 and imposed an abatement order under s.82 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Read more

Notwithstanding the recent date of the first LDF Core Strategy in the country to be adopted, planning permission has been granted on appeal from the refusal of South Cambridgeshire District Council to permit twice the maximum number of dwellings allowed within the relevant sustainable settlement category in the Council's Core Strategy in the village of Over.
