James is Deputy Senior Clerk and began his career as a Barristers' Clerk in 1997. He qualified as a member of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks in 2004 having successfully passed the exams with Distinction. James has also achieved the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

James started his career at Francis Taylor Building (the Chambers of N Valios QC) before his move to 2 Harcourt Buildings (Chambers of G Ryan QC), now at Francis Taylor Building.

He is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of Chambers and is involved in all aspects of diary management and regularly fixes hearings in the Supreme Court, High Court and Public Hearings.  He deals with business development, diary management and fee negotiation at all levels.
