Supreme Court Reserves Judgment in Challenge to Parole Board Guidance

10 November, 2022

Following a day-and-a-half of oral argument, the Supreme Court has today reserved judgment in R (Pearce) v Parole Board of England and Wales.

The case raises important questions about the ability of the Board to take account of allegations made against a prisoner which are not proven to the balance of probabilities.

Further details on the case can be found here.

Conor Fegan was instructed on behalf of the Parole Board by the Government Legal Service,  led by Ben Collins KC (Old Square Chambers) and Sarah Sackman (Matrix Chambers).
