Slough Borough Council’s Tower and Ashbourne CPO Confirmed

26 November, 2021

The Slough Borough Council (Tower and Ashbourne) CPO has been confirmed by Inspector Karen Ridge, as delegated by the Secretary of State.

The Order will facilitate the comprehensive regeneration of two residential tower blocks in Chalvey, Slough for the delivery of 193 new homes. The regeneration scheme is unusual in that it will provide for a 100% affordable housing development, to be let at a Living Rent. The Inspector identified that the provision of 100% affordable housing would “represent a significant achievement and a considerable boost to the supply of much needed affordable homes” and that the scheme as a whole would deliver “substantial and significant public benefits”.

Caroline Daly appeared for the successful acquiring authority, instructed by Tom Barton at Mishcon de Reya.
