High Court Grants 12-Month Extension to National Highways Protestor Injunction

09 May, 2023

Michael Fry led by Myriam Stacey KC has successfully secured a 12-month extension to an injunction imposed as part of measures to deter protesters from disrupting some of England’s busiest roads at the High Court.

The injunction covering the M25, M25 feeder roads and major roads in Kent was originally obtained by National Highways in May 2022 and will now remain in place for a further year. The detailed judgment considers a range of issues including the approach to a review of final injunctions pursuant to the court’s supervisory duty, the joinder of named defendants, whether to permit alternative service and the claimant’s entitlement to costs.

Michael Fry and Myriam Stacey KC were instructed by GLD and DLA Piper on behalf of National Highways Limited.
