Before joining Chambers, Michael practised as an employed barrister in the Governmental Legal Department. His work advising the Department for Transport and Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy give him a keen sense of the needs of public authorities as well as insight into decision-making processes.

Michael's recent work includes acting as junior to David Matthias KC in a section 289 challenge on procedural fairness grounds, assisting Charles Streeten in the judicial review of the Mayor of London's decision to grant planning permission for the Kensington Forum development, and successfully appealing a refusal by Kent County Council to make a definitive map modification order.
