The Editorial Board are pleased to announce an afternoon seminar and early evening drinks reception to mark the 2nd year anniversary of chambers’ Environmental Law Blog on the 20 April 2023.  

The seminar will highlight some of the themes which have been explored on the blog to date, as set out in the programme below. It will be followed by a drinks reception until 7.00pm. All are welcome to attend both or just the seminar or drinks reception.

Programme

1.30pm - Registration and refreshments.

2.00pm - Welcome from Conference Chair - Richard Honey KC, Francis Taylor Building.

2.15pm - Panel 1: Opportunities and challenges for environmental law across the four nations.  Chair: Esther Drabkin Reiter, Francis Taylor Building.  Speakers: Dr Richard Caddell, Cardiff University; Anurag Deb, PhD researcher, Queen's University Belfast;  Niall McLean, Brodies; Kate Tandy, OEP.

3.15pm - Break.

3.30pm - Panel 2: Rights of Nature.  Chair: Jonathan Welch. Speakers: Dr Helen Dancer, University of Sussex; Brontie Ansell, University of Essex; Flora Curtis, Francis Taylor Building.

4.15pm - Panel 3: Climate Change.  Chair:  Merrow Golden, Francis Taylor Building.  Speakers: Kyle Lischak, ClientEarth; Ned Westaway, Francis Taylor Building; Maria Cronin, Peters & Peters.

5.15pm - Close and drinks reception until 7.00pm.

Practical Information
Venue: The event will be held in the Parliament Chamber, The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, Crown Office Row, Temple, London EC4Y 7HL.
Cost and booking: There is no charge to attend but places are limited and must be reserved in advance.  Please use the booking link below and indicate if you will attend the seminar, reception or both.
CPD: The event will attract 3 CPD hours.
