Gabriel Nelson has built a strong practice in environmental law. He has been seconded to the Office for Environmental Protection for the past year, advising in a wide array of environmental matters. Other recent instructions include acting as sole counsel in a judicial review application concerning the pollution of Catfield Fen, one of the best and largest remaining areas of fen habitat in Western Europe, and as junior counsel to Gregory Jones KC, advising in respect of the assessment of ammonia-related impacts from agricultural development on protected sites. He has also been recognised for his pro bono work with the Environmental Law Foundation.
Emma Rowland is a new tenant at Francis Taylor Building. As well as being a regular contributor to the Environmental Law Blog, she has a rapidly developing environmental law practice. She has been instructed, inter alia, by central government, local government and NGOs to advise on a range of environmental law matters. During pupillage, Emma also assisted Ned Westaway in the judicial review of a minerals and waste plan which raised matters of waste law in relation to intensive poultry units. These experiences build on the knowledge she gained whilst studying environmental law on her master’s degree at the University of Oxford.
Gabriel and Emma are delighted to join the Environmental Law Blog as editors and have been regular contributors.
